The lion is the king of beasts — strong, feared and commanding. In Islamic dream interpretation, it most often points to power: the power of a ruler, of an enemy, or the courage within the dreamer.

The Lion in the Quran
The Quran describes those who turn away from the reminder as fleeing in panic:
"As if they were alarmed donkeys, fleeing from a lion." (Quran 74:50–51)
The image captures the fear a lion inspires — which is why, in dreams, the lion often represents someone or something that commands fear or respect.
Classical Interpretations
- A ruler or powerful person: the most common meaning in the classical manuals associated with Ibn Sirin and Al-Nabulsi.
- A strong enemy: especially if the lion is hostile or attacking.
- Courage and strength: if the dreamer is calm with the lion or becomes like a lion.
Common Scenarios
1. Being Chased by a Lion
Often linked with fear of an authority figure or pressure from a powerful person.
2. Being Attacked or Bitten
